America the Beautiful

John tells me he's been singing "America the Beautiful" as he rides across the purple mountains and fruited plains. Look at the second verse of this stirring hymn written in 1913:

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

John prayed for our beloved country yesterday in the capital of Arkansas, "The Natural State." Let's join him to pray "God mend thine every flaw."
